Carolyn grew up in Pittsburgh, PA (an avid Steeler fan long before the 'Big Ben' era!!
She swam for Montour High School and the Chartiers Valley Swim Club. After
graduating from The College of Wooster in 1990, she continued coaching there for
two years. She moved to Bowling Green to be the Assistant Swimming Coach for
the BGSU men's and women's teams in August 1992. In August 1995, she went back
to school at BGSU, earning a 2nd teaching certificate and began coaching with the
Gators. In August 1997, she was promoted to Head Coach. Carolyn is married and
has two children (CJ and Maggie).
Gary Layne - Senior Coach (High School)
Gary has been with BGSC since the year round program began in the fall of 1982. He grew
up in Findlay, Ohio where he began his swimming career. After being discharged from the
Navy, he attended George Williams College and then returned to Northwest Ohio where his
coaching career began. Gary is married and has two children (CJ and Maggie).

Dan Wohl - Head Age Group Coach / Masters Coach
Dan grew up in Sandusky, Ohio. He swam for Vacationland Swim Club and Perkins High School (class of 2003).
While in high school, Dan coached 3 years as an assistant at Plum Brook Country Club for the summer league
team. Receiving 4-time All-American status in high school, he went on to compete at the intercollegiate level
at Eastern Michigan University. At EMU (2003-2007), Dan earned 11 individual Mid-American Conference titles,
10 MAC relay titles, and was a part of 3 MAC championship winning teams. He also went on to compete at the Div.
I NCAA Championships. During his summers at EMU, Dan trained and competed with Club Wolverine. At CW, he
competed at 3 USA Senior Nationals championships and was a member of 2 Senior National Championship winning
teams. After earning his bachelor’s at EMU in Exercise Science, he has been coaching. He coached 3 summers
from 2004-2007 with the University of Michigan Wolverine Swim Camps. Dan returned to Sandusky in 2008 and
began coaching as an assistant with Vacationland Swim Club. In 2009 he became Head Coach of the Plum Brook
Country Club. Dan is currently pursuing his Masters in Special Education.
Katie Womack - Sooner or Later Gator Coach
Katie is a sophomore at BGSU, majoring in Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Marketing
and is in her second year of being a member of the Falcon Swimming team. Before heading off
to college, she was a 15-year member of BGSC. Katie is in her 5th year of working with the
"Sooner or Later Gators" (where she began her swimming career.......).
